Fencing, decking and garden care
Fencing and garden work in Winscombe
Winscombe is just over the ridge from our base near Axbridge, and every service we offer covers it: fencing, gates, decking, hedge cutting, lawn mowing, maintenance and clearance. The village spreads along the valley at the western end of the Mendips, and a lot of our work there is regular care for big, established gardens.

Why do Winscombe gardens need regular care?
Many homes in Winscombe, Sandford and Woodborough have generous gardens with mature hedges, shrubs and long lawns, the kind that look after themselves for about a month and then don't. A regular visit keeps them in hand, rather than a hard cut-back every couple of years.
We can mow on a set round, trim bushes and shrubs, strim the edges and keep hedges in shape through the growing season. When you want a garden brought back first, clearing the overgrown parts is a job of its own, and we leave it tidy.
Most garden work in Winscombe we can quote from photos sent on WhatsApp.

Does your garden back onto the Strawberry Line?
Plenty do. The old Cheddar Valley railway runs right through Winscombe as a walking and cycling path, and gardens beside it need a boundary that gives privacy from passers-by without blocking the light. Closeboard is the usual choice; along a field edge, post and rail.
The path is busy with walkers, cyclists and dogs all year, so a solid fence or a well-kept hedge on that side is worth having. We can put up one or keep the other trimmed.
Which services do we offer in Winscombe?
All of them. Garden maintenance, mowing and hedges are the regular work in the village. Fencing and gates come up along the path, on the lanes towards Shipham, and where gardens run out to fields on the slopes. Decking we come and measure in person.
- Garden maintenance: Regular visits for large, established gardens: shrubs, edges and borders
- Lawn mowing: Long lawns mown on a set round through the season
- Hedge cutting: Mature hedges kept in shape, checked for nests in spring and summer
- Fencing: Closeboard along the Strawberry Line, post and rail where a garden meets a field

Can you come every few weeks to keep the garden tidy?
Yes. Regular mowing and garden maintenance are a big part of our work in Winscombe. Send us a few photos and tell us what you would like done, and we can usually quote from those.
